Classical Mystery Tour

This past Tuesday the Classical Mystery Tour came to Lee University in Cleveland, TN. They performed with the Lee University Symphony Orchestra. It was a lot of fun, and they did a great job. It is amazing how much effort they put into sounding and looking like The Beatles.

P.S. Drew is in the photo, see if you can find him!

I drove up the mountain the other day hoping to capture a nice sunset. It had previously rained for almost four days straight and I was in need of some fresh air. Sadly there were no clouds in the sky to create a “drastic” sun set. However, I took my tripod and decided I was gonna try some HDR shots. This photo is a composition of three different images with different exposures put together in Photoshop CS6. I hope you enjoy!

Cheers,

Capture The Moment

The goal for a photographer is to capture the excitement, the emotion, and the atmosphere all in one image. The problem is that we only have a fraction of a second to use. An image is literally a snapshot in time. It essentially freezes time and gives the viewer the ability to go back and feel those emotions again. Whether it be the excitement of being a newlywed, or the joy of becoming a parent for the first time; these are the things that we should remember, and photography gives us the ability to do so.

Beautiful Eye

A Flying Kayak?

We live down the road from the Ocoee river and it is one of the top whitewater destinations in the country. In fact, the 1996 Olympic kayaking events were held on this very river. During the summer months we often enjoy taking trips to the mountains, lakes, and rivers that surround us. This photograph was taken this past summer on one of our short trips to the river.

This Is Why You Always Carry Your Camera

Early this morning Drew and I were on our way to a music store in Chattanooga when we noticed that a train was slowly crossing the river on the Chickamauga dam railroad bridge. We pulled over to the side of the road and I got out to snap a few shots. I am so happy that we were at the right place at just the right time. To me this image represents what America was built on – hard work and industry. This bridge was originally built in 1888, but had to be rebuilt in 1920 due to a fire. Notice the house on top of the bridge? This is known as “The House in the Sky.” It is a Chattanooga landmark. (1)

I am so thankful that I grabbed my camera on the way out. Let this story remind you that you should always carry your camera. You never know when there will be perfect photo opportunity.
